    Why Private

    What makes this route different.

    01
    No Mexico City connection

Commercial itineraries almost always connect. Private is direct: 2 hours 10 minutes door to door.

    02
    Departure from the executive terminal

Arrive 20 minutes ahead, no check-in queues or baggage belts. Your car can reach the ramp.

    03
    Arrival at MMUN's private ramp

Separate from the commercial terminals. Ground transport waiting, out in minutes.

    04
Straight into Tulum when it helps

We can land at MMTL instead of Cancún, often at the same price, saving you 90 minutes of driving.

    Cost

What determines the cost of a Monterrey → Cancún charter?

Monterrey–Cancún is a two-hour leg that's almost never flown one way: most requests are round trips over a weekend or long weekend. That structure drives the price more than anything, because it decides whether the aircraft stays with you or has to fly home empty.

    01
    Aircraft category

The single biggest driver. The right categories for this leg are light and midsize jets: the gap between them isn't only cabin size but speed, baggage volume and range. A light and a midsize jet on the same route can differ by 60% in price.

    02
    Distance and block time

The leg runs ≈ 1,450 km with a typical 2h 10m in the air. Charter is priced on occupied flight hours, and daily utilization minimums plus crew duty limits still apply even on a short hop.

    03
    One way vs round trip

A round trip that keeps the aircraft with you usually prices better per hour than two one-ways. A one-way Monterrey → Cancún may mean the aircraft flies home empty, and that leg shows up in the rate.

    04
    Positioning (ferry)

The movement of the aircraft before pickup or after drop-off. If the right aircraft isn't based in Monterrey, or is committed elsewhere after landing in Cancún, that repositioning enters the cost. It's exactly why empty legs exist: someone already paid for that leg.

    05
    Season and demand

Availability rules price. Through December through Easter week and the family summer the fleet commits weeks ahead and the rate stops being negotiable. Firm dates booked early widen your aircraft options.

    06
    Handling, FBO and fees

Landing, ramp, FBO handling, catering and crew overnight where applicable. Small next to the flight hour, but they vary by airport and are always itemized in the quote — nothing appears afterward.

The corridor commercial aviation handles badly

Monterrey and Cancún are connected commercially, but nonstop service is thin and concentrated in times that rarely fit a real weekend. Many itineraries end up connecting in Mexico City, turning a two-hour flight into a six or seven hour day.

Private, the leg is direct and the schedule is yours. For a family or a group leaving Friday after work and returning Sunday night, the difference isn't comfort — it's usable days of the trip.

Leaving Monterrey: MMMY or Del Norte

For this leg the natural departure is the international airport (MMMY), where the executive terminal handles full service and midsize jets can position without restriction.

Del Norte (MMAN) is a convenient alternative for the northwest side of the city, but its runway limits aircraft categories. On a 1,450 km leg with a group and luggage, we almost always end up operating from MMMY. We confirm it with the assigned aircraft.

Cancún, Tulum or Cozumel: where to land

Landing at the right field saves more time than any aircraft decision. The Hotel Zone and Puerto Cancún are 20 minutes from MMUN; Playa del Carmen about 45; Tulum close to 90 by road.

If you're headed to Tulum or Bacalar, flying straight into MMTL cuts that transfer to 20 minutes, and the fare is often identical. For Cozumel, landing at MMCZ skips the ferry from Playa del Carmen. We'll tell you which fits where you're staying.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a private jet from Monterrey to Cancún cost?
One way in a light jet (Learjet 35, up to 8 passengers) starts around USD 11,500 + VAT; in a Hawker 800A, around USD 20,500 + VAT. Estimates subject to availability and date; we return a firm quote in under 2 hours.
How long is the Monterrey–Cancún flight by private jet?
2 hours 10 minutes nonstop. Against a commercial itinerary connecting in Mexico City, door-to-door savings usually exceed four hours.
Which airport does the flight leave from in Monterrey?
The executive terminal at Monterrey International (MMMY). Del Norte (MMAN) is an alternative for light aircraft, subject to runway limits.
Can I fly straight to Tulum instead of Cancún?
Yes. We operate into Tulum International (MMTL), often at the same price as Cancún. If you're staying in Tulum or Bacalar it saves about 70 minutes of driving.
    Round trip or two one-ways?
For two or three night stays the round trip almost always wins, because the aircraft stays with you. For longer stays it's worth comparing two one-ways against the corridor's repositioning flow. We quote both.
