    Why Private

    What makes this route different.

    01
    Departure from the private ramp

No check-in queues or belts. Arrive 20 minutes ahead and go.

    02
The country's biggest source of empty legs

Cancún repositions constantly toward the Mexico City metro area. With flexibility, 40 to 75% off.

    03
    Night returns, no curfew

MMTO operates 24 hours. You can close out a full last day on the beach and fly at night.

    04
Departures from Tulum or Cozumel too

If you stayed in Tulum, skip the 90-minute drive and depart straight from MMTL.

    Cost

What determines the cost of a Cancún → Toluca charter?

Direction matters. Cancún toward the centre is the direction where most aircraft fly home empty, so it's also where the most empty-leg opportunities appear. A one-way in this direction can price below the same leg in reverse.

    01
    Aircraft category

The single biggest driver. The right categories for this leg are light and midsize jets: the gap between them isn't only cabin size but speed, baggage volume and range. A light and a midsize jet on the same route can differ by 60% in price.

    02
    Distance and block time

The leg runs ≈ 1,700 km with a typical 2h 15m in the air. Charter is priced on occupied flight hours, and daily utilization minimums plus crew duty limits still apply even on a short hop.

    03
    One way vs round trip

A round trip that keeps the aircraft with you usually prices better per hour than two one-ways. A one-way Cancún → Toluca may mean the aircraft flies home empty, and that leg shows up in the rate.

    04
    Positioning (ferry)

The movement of the aircraft before pickup or after drop-off. If the right aircraft isn't based in Cancún, or is committed elsewhere after landing in Toluca, that repositioning enters the cost. It's exactly why empty legs exist: someone already paid for that leg.

    05
    Season and demand

Availability rules price. Through December through Easter week the fleet commits weeks ahead and the rate stops being negotiable. Firm dates booked early widen your aircraft options.

    06
    Handling, FBO and fees

Landing, ramp, FBO handling, catering and crew overnight where applicable. Small next to the flight hour, but they vary by airport and are always itemized in the quote — nothing appears afterward.

Why this direction is the cheaper half of the corridor

Private traffic between the Mexico City metro area and Cancún is unbalanced: a lot of people fly to the beach on concentrated dates and the aircraft have to return to base. That empty return is what generates empty legs.

In practice, if your return dates have one or two days of flexibility, the discount against the regular rate can run 40 to 75 percent. We publish live availability and message you on WhatsApp when a matching leg appears.

Leaving from Cancún, Tulum or Cozumel

The natural departure is the private ramp at Cancún International (MMUN), separate from the commercial terminals, with customs available 24 hours.

If you stayed in Tulum or toward Bacalar, Tulum airport (MMTL) saves about 70 minutes of driving, often at the same price. From Cozumel (MMCZ) you can depart without taking the ferry to Playa del Carmen. We pick the field around where your stay ends, not by default.

    Arrival at Toluca (MMTO)

The flight lands at Toluca, where Mexico City metro business aviation operates: AICM keeps slot restrictions that in practice shut out on-demand private charter.

From the FBO it's 35 to 45 minutes to Santa Fe, 40 to 50 to Interlomas and about an hour to Polanco. MMTO operates 24 hours, so a night return has no curfew — useful when you want the full last day on the beach.

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

How much does a private jet from Cancún to Mexico City cost?
One way in a light jet starts around USD 12,000 + VAT; in a Hawker 800A, around USD 21,500 + VAT. Empty legs appear frequently in this direction, with 40 to 75% discounts.
Does the flight arrive at AICM?
No. It arrives at Toluca (MMTO), where Mexico City metro business aviation operates. AICM keeps restrictions that shut out on-demand private charter.
Are there empty legs from Cancún to central Mexico?
It's the biggest generator in Mexico, precisely because the outbound flow concentrates a lot of aircraft that must return. With one or two days of flexibility the discounts are substantial.
Can I depart from Tulum instead of Cancún?
Yes. We operate from Tulum International (MMTL), often at the same price. If you stayed in Tulum or Bacalar it saves about 70 minutes of driving.
    Can I fly at night?
Yes. Both MMUN and MMTO operate 24 hours, so you can close out a full last day on the beach and fly home in the evening.
